Whirlwind - We like to call ourselves an ensemble rather than 'quintet'. Although broadly speaking we prefer the quintet format with its richer mix of sounds and wealth of material, we do have a nice repertoire of quartet and trio pieces to call on as well as material with piano and so the term 'ensemble' seems more fitting. We have all played together in may guises over the years but we decided formally to became our own wind ensemble at the turn of the last century.

The members of Whirlwind have a wealth of performing experience, which they bring to the ensemble, taking in performances at many venues in the UK. Whirlwind has been seen (and heard) playing for lunchtime recitals, chamber music clubs and private functions, leaving audiences exhilarated.
